There are many ways a foreign national can end up in removal or deportation proceedings. Maybe the US handed you an asylum denial. Perhaps you were convicted of a crime. Or maybe you unintentionally changed your status or overstayed your visa.
No matter how it happened, you need a knowledgeable lawyer who will guide you through the system and fight hard to protect your rights. At the Chambers Law Offices, we understand what you are going through. To find out more about how we can help, call the Chambers Law Offices for a consultation.
What are some of my options?
If the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has put you in removal proceedings, and you wish to avoid deportation, you could:
Leave voluntarily. With voluntary departure, you would still have to leave the United States. However, it is better than being deported because you could still apply for immigration benefits once you are out of the country. However, you do have to pay for your own ticket to leave.
Cancellation of removal. If you can meet certain conditions or have certain family ties to residents of citizens, you may qualify for this relief.
