Chambers Law Offices LLC's practice of employment law focuses on protecting the rights of employees in the workplace. We represent people who are victims of Age Discrimination, Disability Discrimination, Race Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Retaliation, and Wrongful Termination.
We have successfully represented employees in Federal and State Courts claiming violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and numerous state civil rights and other laws.
If you believe you are a victim of employment discrimination, it is critical that you file a timely charge of discrimination with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and your State Human Rights Agency. Many people have forfeited their rights by not filing timely charges with the EEOC or State human rights agency, which is required before an employment discrimination case can be filed in a Federal or State court.
In Connecticut, a charge of employment discrimination must be filed with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities no later than 180 days after occurrence of the alleged act of unlawful employment discrimination. In Connecticut, a timely filing with the CCHRO automatically doubles as a joint filing with the EEOC.
